Back Support of Ergonomic Chairs for Comfortable & Healthy Seat

Most of us spend an average time of 8 to 10 hours by the work areas. Many even agree the time spent on sitting in the chairs is even more, in the office and at home. Though our spine can keep a natural curvature, we still need to get the right support to our back for relaxed feeling when we sit in the office chairs.

Unfortunately, a lot of people take the seating arrangements seriously. When we sit in the office chair for a long time period, the natural tendency is to slouch forward, which may pushes our lower back out. Over a long time, our natural curvature may go outward toward the office chairs. This can cause even serious back problems. When office staff suffers from back pain, there is also a need to check if the office chairs has the right back support.

In the last few decades, ergonomic chairs have been gradually used in the modern office. Office chairs are said to have an effect on individual performance and even the health. A lot of office staff has complained about lower back pain and most often this is caused by incorrect chair setting or the lack of right back support. Scientifically, the seating position of our chairs distribute different areas of our body weight. The right support to different areas, especially to the lower back is very important. Otherwise, poor back support or no support just gives rise to back pain.

For a good office chair, it needs to offer good lumbar back support. The back support shall be flush one, which can offer enough support to the back. The back supports need to be shaped specifically, with one end being positioned up and the other down. A good back support of office chairs can keep our ears, shoulders or hips in alignment. Besides, check out whether we can keep the natural inward curvature of our lower spine when we sit in the chair. If not, change the back support.

For ergonomic chairs with right lumbar back support, we need to test if the chair fits well. Just sit up straight, with the head, spine and buttocks in alignment and then sit all the way back against the seat back. If the chair curve just naturally follows curvature of our lower spine, that is the right chair. For proper fit, there is a need to try the chair or test the back support of the ergonomic chair before we buy it.

Now there are also ergonomic chairs that have adjustable back support. We can lower or raise the back of the chair seat. When we adjust the back, make sure the curve of the lower back is supported by the curve of the chair back.
